Bruce Ball, CA, CFP, TEP

Since joining BDO Dunwoody LLP in 1988, Bruce Ball has been responsible for developing tax-planning strategies and producing the firm’s technical resources. In his current role as Partner, Bruce coordinates BDO’s Family Business Succession Services and is instrumental in the production and presentation of training material to tax specialist and practitioners. He also provides tax support on client issues for local offices, reviews new legislation, and prepares submissions for federal and provincial governments.
Bruce has been a tutor for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (CICA) Wealth Preservation Course and the Income Tax Practice Course. He has also given presentations at the CICA’s National Conference on Income Taxes and is currently a lecturer and the course coordinator for the CICA’s Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Manager Business course. He has also appeared regularly on Business News Network’s Talking Tax show.
Bruce is currently Vice-Chair (CICA) of the Joint Taxation Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Bar Association and is a member of Industry Canada’s Advisory Committee on Paperwork Burden Reduction. He was also a member of the Canada Revenue Agency’s Action Task Force on Small Business Issues.
Bruce is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and an Estate and Trust Practitioner.
